Don't Let Your Disease Define You!

I have a friend, who fifteen years ago at the age of 67 found out he had MS. Now many of us faced with a life changing disease such as Multiple Sclerosis would let this disease rule our lives. But not my friend1 He decided that he would not let MS define him. He didn't want to be known as the guy with MS. So he decided to find out everything he could on the disease and the things he could do to counter act the physical toll MS would take on his body.

Today fifteen years later he's in terrific shape for a man in his eighties. He swims 1 mile everyday and lifts weights in the gym. He has a vert upbeat attitude and volunteers on several comitees. Sure he walks with a cane and will use a wheel chair when he needs to walk a distance, but the wheel chair is a manual one, not electric.

So what is the take away from my friend's experience? It's simple really his attitude and determination not to let this crippling disease define him and/o rlimit him has enabled him to live a long and active life.

Failed Back Surgery!

Did you know that some statistics say that the percentage of failed back surgery is as high as 74%! Wow that means of the some 500,000 disc surgeries a years nearly 350,000 continue to have back pain! So what is a person to do? Well there are options!

Unfortunately many people rely on surgery in the hopes of curing their back pain and forget about alternative options that require life style changes. Here are some suggestions based on my experience.

1. Rest
2. Lose weight
3. Exercise

It constantly amazes me how people avoid making these changes in the lives, but how quickly they agreed to surgery. Let me make this Very Clear. Surgery should never be your first and/or only option! For a free report go to my sidebar.
